LEAF sells 1,937 in April

Favorable lease rates extended

April sales numbers were down from March sales for Nissan as the fiscal year end deals ended. The brand still ended with a positive year over year sales gain for the month of April.

Recognizing a strong marketing tool in its arsenal, Nissan has extended the favorable lease rates on LEAF. Due to end on April 30, a quick check of Nissan’s website shows that the $199 lease rate has been extended for the LEAF S through July 1. The challenge is finding an S trim level. A local Nissan franchise with multiple outlets in the San Diego area shows 42 2013 LEAFs in stock. Of these, only one is the S trim level. With word getting out about the low lease rate, low cost of operation, and other positive reasons to drive an electric vehicle (EV), the S trim level has been a huge success for the brand, and a boon to the EV segment in general. Nissan does not publicly release build rates for the various trim levels.
