The California Energy Commission (CEC) announced that 3,000 existing EV charging stations throughout the state of California will be upgraded starting this fall. The CEC has partnered with EV Connect, Clipper Creek, and Tom Dowling to perform the upgrades to the SAE-J1772 standard. While the funding of $1.9 million has been approved, the work is expected to start later this year when funds are released and continue for 12-18 months according to EV Connect.
