2013 LEAF earns Top Safety Pick

LEAF joins Altima as 2013 IIHS Top Safety Pick

The 2013 LEAF proves itself to not only provide low cost of ownership benefits, but strong safety benefits as well. This comes as no real surprise as LEAF earned the award for the 2011 and 2012 model years also. One real difference for 2013 though is the improved efficiency, range and appearance, with larger 17 inch alloy wheels available, without detracting from the overall safety of the car. One notable addition for 2013 is the availability of four cameras mounted around the LEAF that provide up-close views on all sides of the car while parking. This convenience feature can also help prevent bumps and grinds in tight parking garage situations.

“Driver and passenger safety are top priorities for Nissan and the ‘Top Safety Pick’ designation by IIHS reflects the design and innovation that have gone into this car to make it a practical, no-compromise electric vehicle,” said Erik Gottfried, Nissan’s director of electric vehicle sales and marketing. “The new, U.S.-assembled 2013 Nissan LEAF provides customers with a remarkable level of value, comfort and security at prices competitive with gas-powered cars in a fun-to-drive package.”
